DeLorean Owners Association Nominations for
Board of Directors
2024 – 2025
Roseanne Simone
Chalfont, PA

My special 672 has been in my family almost from the start. My dad bought it from his good friend (who was the original owner) in the early 80s. I didn’t see my dad drive it much, so I think it was more of an investment to him.
I always loved this DeLorean from the moment I laid eyes on it! My dad explained the detailed history of it being painted yellow as DeLorean US wanted to offer color options to buyers, so they commissioned DuPont to paint 3 training vehicles with aircraft paint to see how it would adhere to stainless. “Sunny” is the last remaining of those original cars.
In 2018, after many years of not being driven, he finally decided to pull 672 out of its long storage to begin restoration. Unfortunately, in May 2019, my dad passed away and sadly, never got to see the restoration through. I inherited his special, one-of-a-kind DeLorean and made it roadworthy, once again. I enjoy driving Sunny regularly and am happy to be the new steward of 672!
Roland Hoffman
Rancho Cucamonga, CA

My involvement with the DeLorean community began in 1982 when my father purchased a DeLorean DMC-12 from the dealership in Whittier, CA. From that year up to 2012, it was a joy to assist my father with “Dee” (04516) and a bit painful to watch his frustrations when he can’t get “Dee” started, ending up towing her to either at Ed Bernstein shop – DeLorean One or Donald Steger at DeLorean West / DeLorean Service Center. When I purchased “Dee” from my father in 2013, my life changed – forever. Not only I have been reunited with “Dee” again, I became heavily involved with our AWESOME DeLorean community . . . a very special family I am honored and proud to be involved with.
In March of 2020, I was humbled and honored to be elected as President of the Association. Little did we knew we would have experience one of the most disruptive 2 years of human living on this planet beginning on that month of March. The “Great Pandemic” of 2020 was certainly the greatest challenge throughout my term as President and for the DeLorean Owners Association. We were forced to cancel events, including our DeLorean Expos and our famed DeLorean Eurofest 2021 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We lost members. We were unable to reach our budget to print magazines. Keeping the Association alive and running was my number one priority during those “dark years” of 2020 – 2022. Yes, it was a very difficult two years keeping the Association afloat, but with GREAT THANKS to our Board of Directors and especially our dedicated members, we were very blessed to survive those “dark years” of the Great Pandemic and continue to thrive.
Fast forward to 2024, I am most looking forward towards serving my 6th term with the DeLorean Owners Association. Serving our owners, DOA members, and our “fans” of the DMC-12 has been and continues to be the highlight of my 40 year involvement with the “family car.” I am certainly looking to continue serve our Delorean owners and our “fans” of the DeLorean DMC-12 automobile. Stainess always.

Alexx Michael
Munich, Germany

I first discovered the DeLorean in 1983 when Ace Frehley, the legendary guitar player from KISS got arrested in his car. I just thought it was the ultimate Rock Star car plus it looked like a prop right out of a KISS photo shoot. Later I discovered that all my favorite cars were designed by John DeLorean so I studied his life and his history.
It took me a little bit longer to find my car but in 2018 I finally pulled the trigger and bought 10227 in Ocala, Florida and had him shipped over to Germany. Even I m not a mechanic, I love to improve things on my car and did a lot of things to make it my ultimate DeLorean.
In 2020 I released a 500 page book about the car, & John DeLorean filled with tons of original documents & rare images called „Looking Inside the stainless sensation. My band Shameless also released a DeLorean song with the title „Live Your Dream“ which features KISS guitar player Bruce Kulick on lead guitar.
I ve been to DeLorean events in Europe and the States and absolutely love the community.
Christian Dietrich
Bunker Hill, West VA

My name is Christian Dietrich and I live in Bunker Hill, West Virginia. I am a heavy equipment mechanic for the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority. I repair and operate the railroad equipment that repairs the tracks. Im 45 years old and have been around the DeLorean Community now for 33 years and love every minute of it. I’m married to Jenny Dietrich and have a 12 year old son named Seth and I have 2 West Highland White Terriers Mindy and Leo. My best friend Benjamin Boyce and his late father Brian Doyle introduced me to the world of DeLorean’s back in 1989 when I learned my friend’s father was a certified DeLorean mechanic back in 1981. ( I do have all his documentation also). I have owned VIN 11035 since 2004 that I had bought sight unseen. She was left abandoned rotting away in Malibu CA since the early 90’s dead when I shipped her to Maryland where she started her restoration to daily driver status. Moved to Bunker Hill in 2015 where I finished up the restoration. I commute almost 200 miles a day through 2 states and the DeLorean does this several times a week ( if not all week depending on weather ) and get 29 mpg! I enjoy helping others in the DeLorean community with their cars and love coming up with new ideas of things to add to the car. If not for the DeLorean, I wouldn’t have the life and career I have today.
Skip Vaughan
Garden Grove, CA

Living in Southern California, Skip’s introduction to the DeLorean community began when he acquired his DeLorean in 1996.
Enjoying the retired lifestyle, Skip worked in the sheet metal business specializing in stainless steel fabrication for restaurant equipment. His introduction to the DeLorean came from a discussion with his father to consider buying a DMC-12 as a great representation of his stainless steel machining business. Skip thought it was a marvelous idea, and purchased VIN 00808.
Throughout the years, Skip and his lovely wife Patty had many memorable adventures with their DeLorean throughout the country and the world. They have attended many car shows with their DMC-12 including DCS, DeLorean Expo’s, and especially the greatest DeLorean event in the world, DeLorean Eurofest – twice (2011 & 2016). The biggest thrill for Skip was when he was able to experience the original test track at the former DeLorean Motor Cars factory in Dunmurry. He was honorably selected to give rides to the attendees of the famed event, including some of the former employees of the DeLorean plant thanks to our very own Robert Lamrock as Skip had the extreme privilege of driving VIN 03915 – Robert’s DMC-12. Skip drove a total of 11 laps on the proving grounds that day. It was the most most memorable and historical experience of his life.
Skip enjoys working on 0808 and it truly shows. As the PRV engine and gearbox continue to be original, he performed an extensive amount of upgrades and improvements including installing true knockoff wire wheels, installing sound deadening / vapor barrier insulation, upgraded cooling system, upgraded exhaust system, entertainment / speaker upgrades, and much more. VIN 0808 has won extensive awards as this car is truly unique, a well defined signature from Skip’s marvelous work over the years.
Skip has served on the Board of the DeLorean Owners Association and he is looking forward to serving with the Association again for the 2024 – 2025 term.
Stéphane Bonavent
Yvelines, France

Born in 1970 in Suresnes, near Paris, France, I started playing cars before having a passion for DELOREAN in 1982 following the death of my father. I got my driver’s license in 1998 and bought my first car that had the DELOREAN V6 PRV “B29F” in French standard, a real motor treat. Then, a minivan also with the same V6 PRV “B29F”. My passion for mechanics and the car grows with my first cars that I transform and improve.
I decided to study to work in the automotive industry. I studied specialized in techniques / technologies and I became an Electronics Engineer graduated in 1995. When it comes to the DeLorean Automobile, it is just one of many passions I’ve adopted though my life; friends have told me to levels beyond what would be reasonable.
In 2000, I purchased a DMC for my father. He understood I liked it as much as he did, so it became the focus of many enjoyable father-son adventures, until he left us about twelve years ago.
I’ve continued my involvement with many club events and rallyes, all as enjoyment with my friends and the community centered around it. Most of my activities has been within the Southern California area, but also cross-country misadventures including the Fireball Run. I’ve competed ten times driving the DMC, winning the exotic car class several times, with less than one-fourth the horsepower of most other entries!
I joined the DeLorean Owners Association in 2001, and the board around 2004. It continues to be the only international organization to promote the marque around the world, producing events, magazines, and support to local clubs.
In terms of my background, it is technical with experience in engineering design and scientific endeavors (the space program), while also the management of such programs. I’ve later ventured into film and video production, some of which is about the car.
I look forward to continuing the mission of the Association, including what is expected to be the greatest Eurofest ever in 2026, and more great DeLorean Expos in the years to come.

I fell in love with the Delorean at the age of 16. It wasn’t because of the famous BTTF movies, I just loved the look of the car. I made that my “dream car” and thought about owning one when I was older. (I wouldn’t own one until my mid 30s) I had never even seen one in person.
I was always into cars though. I hung out with all the “car guys” and tried to learn as much as I could. I have had several cars that I loved, but I always had the Delorean in the back of my mind. But it felt like it was so out of reach! You never saw them, or saw any for sale. And I never thought I would own one.
One day 5 years ago, I happened to be looking online and I saw a Delorean listed for sale about 45 minutes from me. I remember calling the number immediately, I was so nervous. I told the man on the phone that I wanted to come see the car. I remember he kept telling me, “only if you are actually serious!” The next day we drove out to see it. My heart jumped when I saw it. It was unbelievable. I couldn’t believe it was real and I could touch it. When the man told me I could drive it around the block, I was overjoyed. I paid for that car and took her home a few days later.
I absolutely love my Delorean. And I plan to keep her in our family. I enjoy talking to other Delorean owners online. I have made many friends. The Delorean community is truly helpful and I am proud to be a part of it.
